PRP Treatment for the Face

Discover the science behind age-defying skin! Dive into the transformative power of PRP.

PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment is an autologous treatment that is completely holistic as it uses your own blood, no synthetic materials. The treatment works based on the body’s natural healing process. It is a new holistic revolutionary repair system.

What is PRP therapy? The procedure involves taking the patient’s blood and concentrating the levels of platelets and growth factors to promote healing in injured tissue. PRP as a therapy is used to treat both clinical and aesthetic indications including; wound healing, burn trauma, tennis elbow, skin rejuvenation, under-eye circles, hair restoration, cellulite, acne scars, acne and rosacea, pigmentation and much more.

What we offer at London Body Centre

  • Skin Rejuvenation: PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production which thickens and tightens thinning skin, effectively smoothing wrinkles, and fine lines. Because it boosts collagen, it’s also a great treatment for improving overall skin texture and tone. It is particularly good for people who suffer from rosacea or acne.
  • Under-Eye Treatment: PRP is extremely effective for treating difficult-to-treat areas, such as the delicate under-eye area where clients often notice signs of ageing first but where no laser can be used.
  • A Treatment for Hair Loss: When your plasma is injected into the scalp, the growth factors in your blood cells help stimulate your hair growth cells to produce thicker hair over time.
  • Increase Volume in Your Face: The PRP process helps your body produce more collagen in the treated areas, naturally. This increase in collagen can help restore volume to areas that appear sunken.
  • Say Goodbye to Wrinkles and Fine Lines: A fantastic benefit of the PRP treatment is that it can help significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This means you can get a more youthful look in a short period without going under the knife.

What to Expect from PRP Treatment at London Body Centre

Discover the comprehensive guide on what to expect during and after PRP treatment at London Body Centre. From initial consultation to post-procedure care, we cover everything you need to know for a seamless experience.

How does it work?

PRP utilizes the potent healing properties of your own blood. A small sample of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells. This golden plasma, highly concentrated with growth factors, is then applied to the skin—often via micro-needling or localized injections—to trigger accelerated collagen production and cellular renewal.

Before the PRP treatment

To prepare your body for the best plasma yield, hydrate well by drinking plenty of water the day before and the morning of your treatment. Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs like Ibuprofen or Aspirin) and alcohol for at least 72 hours prior, as these can interfere with platelet function and increase the risk of bruising.

During the PRP treatment

The procedure starts with the application of a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. While you numb, a practitioner will draw a small vial of your blood (similar to a routine blood test) and process it in a centrifuge. The extracted PRP is then strategically injected or micro-needled into the targeted areas of your face or scalp.

What results can I expect to see and how many do I need?

Initial improvements in skin tone and texture can be noticed within a few weeks, but the most significant collagen-building results peak at around 2 to 3 months. For optimal, long-lasting results, a series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is highly recommended.

Facts You Need to Know

Because PRP uses your own biological material, there is virtually zero risk of an allergic reaction or rejection. It is one of the most natural anti-aging treatments available in modern aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions About PRP Treatment

Explore our comprehensive FAQ section to find answers to common questions about PRP treatment at London Body Centre. From safety concerns to expected results, we cover everything you need to know to feel confident about your PRP journey.

What Can PRP treat?

PRP is highly versatile. It effectively treats fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin texture, dark under-eye circles, and even hair loss (alopecia).

How long does it take?

The entire appointment, including the blood draw, centrifuging process, numbing, and the actual treatment, usually takes between 45 and 60 minutes.

How do I determine if I’m a good candidate?

Most people seeking a natural approach to anti-aging, scar reduction, or hair restoration are excellent candidates for PRP. A consultation with our medical aesthetician will confirm your suitability based on your medical history and aesthetic goals.

Is PRP painful?

Discomfort is minimal. We apply a high-quality topical numbing cream to the treatment area before beginning, making the micro-needling or injection process highly tolerable.

How many treatments do you need?

While you will see a noticeable glow after one session, a standard protocol generally requires 3 to 4 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart for the best collagen-stimulating results.

Are there any exclusion criteria that inhibit someone from getting PRP?

Yes. You should not undergo PRP if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active facial infections or skin conditions (like eczema or severe rosacea outbreaks), or suffer from certain blood or bleeding disorders.

How long does it take to work?

Because PRP relies on your body’s natural regenerative processes, it is not an instant fix. You will begin to see improvements in skin texture within 3 to 4 weeks, with optimal firming and collagen production peaking at 2 to 3 months.

Who is NOT a candidate for PRP therapy?

Individuals with platelet dysfunction syndromes, critical thrombocytopenia, hypofibrinogenemia, hemodynamic instability, sepsis, or active systemic infections are not candidates for PRP therapy.

How long do I have to wait to return to my normal activities?

You can usually return to your normal daily activities the very next day. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, swimming, and direct sun exposure for at least 48 to 72 hours post-treatment.

Can I take my normal medication(s) before and after the injection?

Most normal medications are fine, but you MUST avoid NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and Aspirin) and other blood-thinning supplements (like fish oil or Vitamin E) for at least 3 days before and after the treatment, as they inhibit the inflammatory phase necessary for the platelets to work.
